The Ventura Hillsides Conservancy is a land trust operating in the Ventura region to protect and conserve open space resources through acquisition of land and easements, stewardship of protected lands, and public education about local natural resources.
It was just ten years ago that the fight to save the Ventura hillsides from development spawned the Ventura Hillsides Conservancy.
In that period of time, our land trust — YOUR land trust — has acquired valuable habitat for endangered and threatened species in the Ventura River.
Together we have become leaders in the effort to clean and restore this vital natural resource. Hundreds of children from schools all over Ventura have visited our preserves. Thousands of you have joined us as members, attended our events and volunteered at our clean-ups.
Footage of volunteers working in river, stills of music festival, film festival, gala event. Together we have accomplished great things for Ventura.
What will the next ten years bring? Our work on the Ventura River Parkway will reconnect our community to the river’s recreational uses. More acreage will be under our protection, and more habitat will be preserved and opened to the public, from the river all the way to the hillsides.
We look forward to your help in making that dream become a reality!
