Lewis Wilkenfeld, of the Cabrillo Music Theatre, speaks with Our Ventura TV host, Howard Leader, about his role as an artistic director of musical theatre, which combines songs, dialogue, acting, and dance. The story and emotional content of the piece – humor, pathos, love, anger – are communicated through the words, music, movement and technical aspects of the entertainment as an integrated whole.

Wilkenfeld also talks about what makes a good show, as well as a good season and talks about how they entertain the local troops Bob Hope style.

Cabrillo Music Theatre is an Ovation Award Winner and the Resident Musical Production Company at the Bank of America Performing Arts Center at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza, the largest theatre between Los Angeles and San Francisco.

Cabrillo Music Theatre’s mission is to introduce the musical theatre experience to socially, culturally, economically diverse, and underserved populations of Southern California.
