Landis L. Potter discusses the Civil War and Civil War reenactments at the Ventura County Fair. Landis also talks about some of the real history of the Civil War that is not taught in schools.

Landis Potter is a former Marine, and a retired deputy sheriff for the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department. He taught at the Ventura Jr. College as an associate professor in Criminal Justice and for the Dept of Defense at Point Mugu and Hueneme Navel bases. Potter is an avid Civil War re-enactor with the largest confederate artillery unit, the Richmond Howitzers Battalion, based in southern California. Additionally, he is a Civil War historian.
