The Self-Help Legal Access (“SHLAC”) Center provides informational assistance in the following types of civil cases:
Unlawful Detainer, Collection, Probate Guardianship & Conservatorship, Civil Harassment Restraining Order, Name Change, Step-Parent Adoption, & Expungements (Misdemeanor & Infractions only).
The SHLAC does not help with initiating civil law suits, small claims, probate/trusts issues, criminal cases, writs of mandate and appeals.
He also talks about mediation as well as the benefits of volunteering.
