On January 17. 2013, Ventura artist, Paul Lindhard, along with city and private dignitaries, presented his Main Street Welcome Monument as part of the ribbon-cutting dedication.

The monument is located on West Main Street on the corner of Peking St., near the Ventura River. The monument was funded by private donations, including a major contribution from prominent local attorney Ron Bamieh to honor his four-year-old daughter Remy, who died in 2005 from cancer. The ribbon cutting featured Bamieh, his two sons, retired businessman and community activist Sam Povar, Councilwoman Christy Weir, as well as Lindhard.
