Power of the Preamble: True Meaning of the U.S. Constitution

Steven Ferry speaks with George Alger about Citizens Academy US.

Mission & Background: Citizens Academy US is a non-profit, non-political organization dedicated to helping Americans achieve a complete understanding of the preamble to the U.S. Constitution.

The Preamble’s Purpose: Ferry outlines that the preamble details six core purposes established by the founding fathers so independent states could coordinate effectively without working at cross-purposes.

Language Barrier: A survey conducted by the organization revealed that out of 52 words in the preamble, 19 are commonly misunderstood today because word definitions have shifted over the last 250 years. For example, the term “welfare” in 1828 meant an abundance resulting from one’s own efforts, rather than government assistance.

Educational Approach: Utilizing L. Ron Hubbard’s study methods and Webster’s 1828 dictionary, the program guides users through clarifying definitions and building sentences until the original meanings are fully understood.

Free Resources & Vision: Citizens Academy US offers free online interactive workbooks and resources to build a grassroots movement aimed at educating citizens, increasing appreciation for the Constitution, and promoting civic harmony.
