The Declaration of Independence is the statement adopted by the Continental Congress on July 4, 1776, which announced that the thirteen American colonies, then at war with Great Britain, regarded themselves as thirteen newly independent sovereign states, and no longer a part of the British Empire. Instead, they formed a new nation—the United States of America.

Downtown Ventura was transformed into a winter-holiday celebration on December 3, 2011. Santa visited via a firetruck before lighting the Holiday Tree, a mini-blizzard accompanied live music and dancing in the street, all along with the Ventura Winter Wine Walk and Holiday Street Fair. -
2011 Ventura County St. Patrick’s Day Parade
Today’s 23rd Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade started marching down Main Street, in Downtown Ventura, at 10:00am. The parade featured marching bands, bagpipers, dancers, political dignitaries, hot rods, vintage cars, motorcycles, local societies, lots of green and quite a bit more.
