  • 2011 Ventura County Fair Parade

    This “Our Ventura” video condenses over two hours from the 2011 Ventura County Fair Parade into about 9 minutes. Some 85 different groups danced, sang, performed, entertained and/or waved their greetings to the thousands of spectators along Main St., in downtown Ventura. Of course the Ventura County Fair itself is taking place from Aug. 3-14 this year, at the Ventura County Fairgrounds.

    Amanda Lynne is a spokesperson for the Landon Pediatric Foundation for Juvenile Diabetes and dedicates her “tasteful burlesque” dance career to the cause of raising awareness and resources for diabetes. In this discussion with “Our Ventura” host, Frank James Malle, Amanda talks about her personal experience with Type 1 Juvenile Diabetes and describes how dance, as well as exercise in general, helps to eliminate blood sugar and balance out carbohydrates.
