The Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Ventura provide programs and services that promote and enhance the development of boys and girls by instilling a sense of competence, usefulness, belonging and influence. CEO, Patrick Davidson, speaks with Our Ventura TV host, Sandra Siepak, about the purpose and activities of the clubs. They serve all youth ages 6-18, after school, during school breaks and all day in the summer.
Boys & Girls Clubs are a safe place for kids to learn and grow — all while having fun. It is the place where great futures are started each and every day.
Their Education & Career Programs help youth create aspirations for the future, providing opportunities for career exploration and educational enhancement.
Their Character & Leadership Programs help youth become responsible, caring citizens and acquire skills for participating in the democratic process. They also develop leadership skills and provide opportunities for planning, decision-making, contributing to Club and community and celebrating our national heritage.
The Clubs Health & Life Skills initiatives develop young people’s capacity to engage in positive behaviors that nurture their own well-being, set personal goals and live successfully as self-sufficient adults.
The Arts Programs enable youth to develop their creativity and cultural awareness through knowledge and appreciation of the visual arts, crafts, performing arts and creative writing.
Sports, Fitness and Recreation programs help develop fitness, a positive use of leisure time, reduction of stress, appreciation for the environment and social and interpersonal skills.
There are Specialized Programs that focus on meeting the significant and specific needs identified within Boys & Girls Clubs.
