Dr. Roxann Abrams is a Gold Star Mother, which is a designation formed in the United States shortly after World War I to provide support for mothers who lost sons or daughters in the war.
In this interview with Our Ventura TV host, George Alger, Abrams discusses helping veterans through her nonprofit, Operation: I.V. The “I.V.” stands for an infusion of help for an Iraq and Afghanistan veteran.
Operation: I.V. provides medical support, alternative medicine and talent acquisition services to Iraq and Afghanistan Combat Veterans suffering with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and mild Traumatic Brain injury (mTBI).
In this interview, Abrams discusses Vets4Hire, one aspect of Operation: I.V., which helps veterans find a well-matched, civilian career as an essential accomplishment towards establishing a successful transition back into civilian life.
Operation IV was founded by Abrams in memory of her son, SFC Randy Abrams, who died by suicide after he returned from his 3rd tour in Iraq. She believes the best way to honor her son is to serve his brothers and sisters.
