The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), or Food Stamps, helps low-income families buy food. SNAP food stamps can be used to buy food items in supermarkets, convenience stores, and farmers’ markets. Eligibility is based on income, resources, and residency of household members.
