Doug Halter is a Board Member of the Ventura Botanical Gardens. In this interview with Our Ventura TV host, Lyn Fairly, he discusses the founding of the nonprofit Ventura Botanical Gardens and its development since 2005.

Halter touches upon the Ventura Botanical Gardens’ association with Grant Park as well as the 5 biomes that will be represented. He also outlines other development in the works.

(A biome is an area of the world that has a particular type of weather and contains particular plants and animals)

The five biomes that will be represented include the Mediterranean, Chile, South Africa, Australia and of course Southern California. Each of these five zones share a distinctive climate pattern of mild, rainy winters and hot, dry summers.

The first demonstration trail is available for hikers to enjoy, which can be accessed behind Ventura City Hall.
