Oscar Pena speaks with Sandra Siepak about the Ventura Port District.

The Ventura Port District was organized for the purpose of acquiring, constructing and operating a commercial and recreational boat harbor within the City of Ventura.

Ventura’s working harbor includes commercial fishing, featuring California squid, recreational boating and the Ventura Harbor Village with numerous special events.

Pena discusses the new beautifcation project to refresh the shopping experience. He also touches upon infrastructure upgrades, upcoming new hotels and apartments.

The Ventura Port District has a budget of about 8 million dollars per year. 80% of that comes from a percentage of shopping and other business transactions. They also receive about 4 to 6 million dollars per year in Federal Funding to dredge the harbor.
